Too Strong To Fall(Too Tough To Stand)

  

I see the eye of the hurricane

whenever we get into a staring contest.

 

In these moments it is like being frozen in time

like a fly caught in a spider’s web.

 

I never struggle to get free

instead simply pretend I am in a cocoon.

 

Every time you stand your ground

I feel mine getting sturdier.

 

Huff and puff with all your might

my lung capacity just keeps getting larger.

 

Your unstoppable force meeting

my immoveable object

keeps our structure from falling either way

making these walls earthquake proof

even though we put each other six feet under.

~ you write extremely thought-provoking poetry, monsieur... this particular piece reminds me of the conversation that takes place in the first few minutes of kill bill volume one... (the one in which uma thurman defines her perception of what even steven means) and the last line reminds me of the coffin scene in kill bill volume two... i dunno if you're a fan of quentin tarantino but i am... so i truly mean it when i say this is remarkable work... it makes me wonder about the two characters in this piece... if i was one of them, i'd return to the surface from six feet under... oh... and this piece also reminds me of the jethro tull classic called "too old to rock and roll and too young to die"...
