Tale Of The Drunken SkullA Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)
Rattled
bones Shake
the confidence Of
a man Who
use to be Comfortable In
his own skin… Who
lived for the thrill Of
the flesh.
Now
the years Of
neglect Of
what made him Vulnerable Has
caused haunting
decay.
What
once he hid away Beneath
mortal masquerades. Has
shattered to
the ground when
he lost the ability to
hold it in.
All
those years Of
gin under the bridge now washed out The
road to happiness Till
the city of hope Had
became The
city under the sea.
Walking
the Earth with
hazy vision Hindsight
is now A
double life Stumbling
its way To
the afterlife.
I
tell you no lie, You
can see it in The
dark holes That
was once his eyes, This
is the tale Of
a drunken skull That
cannot Hold
his liquor. © 2014 The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)Reviews
