Simply Blessed

Simply Blessed

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)

Following the flow of the stream

Is always the way

To follow my dreams.

Taking the path through the trees

Is most certain to lead to

The place I will meet serenity.

There’s a place behind the shack

Where in the hammock I’ll find

Nostalgia enjoying a nap.

Back in the cabin at the camp

Something is being cooked

That makes my heart go bump.

All around this simple land

I feel the uplifting touch

Of the Divine One’s hand.

LOVE THIS! I am of the same mind, that the simple pleasures are the best God-given ones. This poem stands the test of time, since it's as applicable today as when you wrote it for TG. I love how each verse celebrates a different aspect of nature -- V3 is great, "nostalgia taking a nap"! *smile* Fondly, Margie

dear Dale.... to lie under trees where birds fly to and fro is so relaxing and the sounds of nature can provide a symphony of peaceful afternoons in warm weather. truly, Pat

You make an important point in this one. Many of those who are bitter and resentful at their lot do not appreciate the simple things that are always open to them. How easy it is to take breath for granted, until you run out of it.

Thank you for those wise words.
yes, absolutely divine is what he has given us with nature....you remind of my Vermont days at the Gutterson's farmhouse...they had a big hammock on the porch...i used to lie in it as a little kid enjoying the sounds around me. and i love the title...the simple things to be thankful for, those are the best....
thanks for the memory, Dale..

Those sound like great memories, thanks for sharing.
I think you read my heart in this one. It longs for a haven in the forest. Wilderness......mountains...and vast amounts of land...sigh ♥️ Needless to say I loved this.
