The Devil's Deja Vu

The Devil's Deja Vu

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)
"

Inspired by the song "Falling Into You" by Sebastian Bach

"

Twisting my mind

Till thoughts in my head

Become so distorted

That right and wrong

Collide like Armageddon.

Peeling away my soul

Layer by layer

So that I feel so shallow

I can’t even recognize

My reflection in the water.

Gripping my heart

So tight that all feelings

Seep onto the floor

Into the porthole of hell

Burning like a Holy sacrifice.

Once again I am caught

In the devil’s déjà vu

Confirming my legacy.

The Devvil made me do it, :)! Seriously, it's an interesting piece and I think we can all relate a bit. There are times when we feel like we have all been down this road before, yet we still don't know what choices we should make. It can all be so very frustrating and confusing and maddening. You are very descriptive in this piece and it makes it easy for me to envision the words as little scenes in my mind. Thanks for the great write.

Now this is a compliment, or random fact, or something, so read with an open mind... But everytime I see a poem from you these days I think of that book/new movie 'Twilight'. That said, I'm not even sure what it's about really, just that something in teh promos seems to be making a connection to a lot of your work... See, that's a good thing! :)
Now onto the piece itself, I do love the sort of action vibe that is embedded somewhere deep within all the emotion and the rawness. It feels... It feels like the devil's polished and manicured piece, so nicely flowing, the words chosen carefully, yet the subtext, the meaning, the content, it is all dark and dangerous... Does that make sense? Anyhow, thanks for sharing...

There it is. As promised. Dark and wild and strangely thrilling. The last line is a killer.
