Imperfect

Imperfect

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)

It’s like a bed of roses

When in bloom nothing

Is more beautiful, yet it has many thorns

That will get under your skin

On occasion… but worth it

When it flourishes for heaven to see.

It resembles a sparkling stream

Flowing so naturally with grace,

Though sometimes chilly

It remains crystal clear

And can make you feel refreshed

When life over heats you.

It can be compared to the sky

Changing moods day to day,

And though sometimes

It can’t be seen through the pain

You know it still exists

And goes on forever.

Love to me seems just like nature

            Perfectly imperfect.

Your beautiful poem reminds us all how much we can learn from the natural world we inhabit. Through the simple beauty of a rose to the grace of a flowing stream and the moody wonderment of the sky above we are all perfectly imperfect. It is what makes us who we are and who we become when touched by love. Getting lost in the vastness of the sky as to look into your lover's eyes and know it goes on forever. Very nicely done.

You express so well the depth and complexity of love, with the connection to nature in its beauty and pain. Powerful!

I think you summed it up wonderfully. Love is perfectly imperfect and I don't think any of us would have it any other way. This is a really great poem. I loved your comparison of love to a stream. It really popped in my head when I read it.

Poetry is Imperfect...but this poem has and owns it all...The beauty of A kiss.. draw into paper...The thorns of a rose bush..is so imperfect and yet so perfect.. I see in your poetry.. a kiss! that blooms into a river of rose petals..I imagine that your desire and longing to love is like a bed full of petals and crystals..!
Love it.. amazing writing..! Dell.. blessings

This poem has a beauty all its own. Nature can teach us many things including love. My roses died, and I just threw them in the trash. No wonder I couldn't stand to look at them! It must have reminded me of love when it too dies. Great metaphor!

De-light-ful! Your imagery is very vivid of beauty and the downsides of life and love. Perfectly imperfect....You said it very nicely!
