Keeper Of The Ravens

Keeper Of The Ravens

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)

She soulfully walks… alone,

Where even the shadows are afraid to dwell.

Slipping through the leafless trees

Her eloquent beauty whispering… inspiration

To those who see the true heart in the dry bark.

Keeper of the ravens… needing no cage,

Her dark charms are the key to letting them fly…

Free to those in need of the gift of afterlife

So they can rebirth into new skin…

Skin that will bring peace without changing

Their reflection; allowing them to see

Why the light she hides from needs them.

Never seen by those with pale stares;

Feared by those with sun baked skin…

She is the freedom of humanity.

What a fantastic picture!

This is so myth-like it almost drips with age! Love the way you've created this wonderful creature who lives to bring light, who turns death into life by merely being 'there' in the pitch black of whatever-is.

'Skin that will bring peace without changing Their reflection; allowing them to see Why the light she hides from needs them.' - great imagination and sensitivity.

An incredible post, Dale... in my mind, one of your best, if not the best.

To see a woman in her all she needed freedom is like a pearl to give her as within a necklace, to keep it forever caged around her neck for moments she needs to have civil life again~ lovely write dear Dale, love to see your oldies, on top!

This has such a haunting feel to it. I have always drawn a strange comfort from crows and ravens. Very misunderstood birds, in my book. And maybe that's why I relate.

I love the way you set this up, the format is perfect and the imagery stunning.

Absolutely love this. The picture is amazing and it's about ravens; what more could I ask for. It's beautiful, and vivid. Well done.

First off, I love the picture. Second of All, Wow! This almost seems like a legend, kinda like sleepy hallows in a weird sort of way. Very dark and beautiful

Your chosen animal was a raven, but I almost sense that the "freedom of humanity" isn't just from her keeping of the ravens, but from her connection with the wild. I've always believed that humanity's only salvation will come from the wild as beings who look like people but their mentality is that of a being from the wild, so they aren't quite "people," more like animals with a human's skin.

I don't know if you followed that, but it is praise!
