One Nation Under Bureaucracy

One Nation Under Bureaucracy

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)

Cellblock gypsies

Bargain basement hearts,

Embrace the emptiness,

Steal away damnation;

      One nation without…

      Humanity,

            Salvation.

Only the long arm of democracy

That holds on to the long arm of…

      Gravity; and it is known

      What goes up must come down.

So goes the cycle,

Recycled from the grave,

Exonerated from hell

For the purpose of

      Jealousy, retribution.

Penance lost; adrift

      In a sea of fear.

Tears in a vial; becomes acid

      When spilled on newborn flesh.

The hard line between eternity

And an enigma

      Suffocates reality,

      Sophisticates generations,

      Complicates unity…

Forbidden structures become

Unholy temples under the watchful…

      Eye in the sky,

      Translucent hypocrisy

            Clipped wings of freedom;

Fear the new “F” word

In the land of the faceless

      And the land of the blasphemers.

rather awesom man well done, love the last 5 lines especially

Translucent hypocrisy

Clipped wings of freedom;

Fear the new “F” word

In the land of the faceless

And the land of the blasphemers.

Vibrant illustration of the land of the slaves and the home of the stagnant. We keep placing everything in the government's trust, which is precisely against the concepts of what our nation was founded upon. I wonder what the Founding Fathers would have to say about the way their life's work has played out. We used to be a proud nation, and our pride was in how we were a responsible people. The government took care of the framework, all of the details though were the people's, and America undertook the responsibility gladly and very well. Seems like that's all gone out the window now though. Well done with this poem Cowboy.

"Tears in a vial; becomes acid

This line jumped out at me. Wow a strong and purposeful write. I felt the anger seeping from the page. Excellently told my friend!

Your write rings out with truth and wisdom as you contemplate on the present state of our society, and those to be held accountable!

this rings so true in the ways this nation is going and handling things...this rant border close to a discussion i was having with a friend the other day. leave it to you to voice something that others may only think of or let the 'fear' keep them from voicing.

great write, Dale....
