lots of room for interpretation in this one, so lots of room for reviews :)
we can live in the past and suffocate our present and future
punish ourselves and try to make up for something already done
or learn from it and become better; grow
we grow or we die
there's no standing still or going back in life
we either fade out, burn out or rust out
time runs out for all of us
the novelty repeats itself
the same story
the same space

Hold onto those dreams, let the materialistic drop out of place, not important, what is important is the reality beyond that which we see, love this! xoxo
Honest and truthful write. Though I'm at a partial disagreement with the first stanza, too fast or too slow or even just right - you can never run from the past no matter how hard you try. This is a clever and intellegent piece. Nicely done!
This is definitely a style of poetry that I just take to right away. Each stanza is perfected, and I know how long that can take... I love the first segment. For some reason, the thoughts seem more taunting at night. It is then it is hard to run from the past because it all hits at once...which leads into the next segment. Life is harder for some than others sometimes for no reason at all. The last segment is a parting desire, a piece of wisdom we should all take.
This is extremely well done; it is going into my favorites!
Great wisdom in your words. I try to run from my past. In the end it caught up with me. All three verses of wisdom I did enjoy. A outstanding poem.

These are wonderful thoughts! I especially like the last verse, but the first one really makes sense! We might try to live in the fast lane, but if we go too fast, it can certainly be our end!
Good you are thinking in the dark while all is still!
It's better to be dead and cool than alive and uncool
