Shall I Clothe You In White

Shall I Clothe You In White

A Poem by bob26

Shall I clothe you in white
At life's grand eclipse
As flames lick, skipping
Around bloods decaying form?
As purified soul
Leaves firm prison cold,
Released to a world
No longer of black
Your battered heart
Relieved of pain.

Shall I clothe you in green
At mortals lifeless end
As fire flails softly
Across your stillborn repose?
When the innocent spirit
Births into lands
Of long spilling streams,
As garden state
Springs infancy
In lady natures fold.

Or should I relinquish your mould
Of earths soiled attire
As demon tongue dances
On time weary tomb?
So unbridled true essence
At finale be free
To fly as it will
Untarnished
completely
As new life begins?

This poem is really thought provoking, and most likely about death if I am right. Your line breaks are marvelous and the metaphors are like sweet drinks of spring water throughout your piece. The cyclic way of this piece is really unique and could be read multiple times over.
