Mermaids

Mermaids

A Poem by bob26

Moonlit cove in half-light bathed,
Of jagged rock and foam edged wave
where sailors flock from journeys long
In search of mystic siren song.

Fair temptress loft on clouds of stone
Amid the halls of poseidon's throne,
Of golden hair and pleasing form
Where love sick souls in two are torn.

And consort to wise eidoethea be
This cunning maiden of the sea,
Where love may lie, there peril sleeps,
Yet safe of heart our sorrow keeps.

drowning in love...or transforming because of it...love that is fantasy seems safer than what is real...i think Emily Dickinson imagined that because all of her lovers were "imagined"----
