Sunset

Sunset

A Poem by Delaney Thomas

I think one of the most beautiful moments,
Is in the hour between daylight and darkness.
When the sun and the moon embrace in the most vibrant of hues.
And the golden daylight strokes the cheek of every rosy face,
As if their inner sun is finally shining through.
Everything seems to glow in that hour of transition.
Shining brighter, despite the impending darkness,
And the death of a beautiful day.
There's an extra sparkle in the eyes of my love,
Who sits beside me in the passenger's seat.
And I think I love him a little bit more,
As I watch the dimming sun cradle his face,
And dance across his skin.
