When I noticed...

When I noticed...

A Poem by Delilah

I had failed to notice the true sadness of the ocean. The grey waters constantly roaring towards the shore. The white foam whispering secrets, the gulls calling from above. With the salty winds slapping against my cheeks, they grow red. My lips chapped, raw. On stormy days the winds wailing, their cry's of anguish I cannot shut out. Their stories come rushing at me. Perhaps a mermaid washed ashore never to see her true love again... But that's just a silly fantasy. The sand wet beneath my feet, the small granules getting caught between my toes. In the evening the sun sets beneath the horizon. A glorious bloody red. When the moon comes out and stars peek from behind the clouds. A serene silver light shows the way...

conveys the desolation of the ocean. a side that i had never thought about. it is a rather depressing view of the ocean. however, in the end there is hope and light. excellent job.
