Ricochet's Christmas Carol

Ricochet's Christmas Carol

A Poem by Baby Ricochet
"

Tis the season to be aggravated

"
      Christmas time has come again
         No wonder I'm so annoyed
With sleigh bells in the goddamn air
       You'd think I'd be overjoyed

     Carols are blaring everywhere
So go deck your holly halls
Decor and lights all over the place
So go hang your little balls

TV says it's time to give
So buy buy buy buy buy
It's the patriotic thing to do
With the fiscal cliff near by

My family's pushing for a visit
       With that old Familiar line
"It could be Grandpa's last Christmas"
He could croak and I'd feel fine

For Christs sakes how old is he anyway
about a hundred and eighty five
It's unnatural to vote for Lincoln
           And yet still be alive

    I don't like cold I don't like carols
          I'm a regular old scrooge
Every party someone drags me to
I head straight towards the booze

I play grab a*s with all the girls
I know that's just plain wrong
I just want my friends to say
That's the last time you tag along

Drag me to a Christmas Parade
      You know that's just absurd
Santa waved at me from his Float
So I flipped ol Chris the bird

   Jesus Ricochet what's the deal
It's the spirit don't you know
Okay baby come take a look at
 what's hanging under my mistletoe

Sorry, Damien
Your humorous poem of the holiday! I'm thankful you were at least, "not" politically correct. I would still invite you to a Christmas Party.
I don't listen to all those songs though! I really can't stand a majority of them.
It usually takes us about three days to fix up the house for Christmas. It used to take only an hour. But we acquired "stuff" over the years that must be displayed. Tree, wreaths, garland, nativity scene, mistletoe, village, train, snow. ribbon, lights, both inside and out.
We do it for the kids... though they are grown and no longer live here. The kids are us. We are the ones that allow the magic of the season to live and survive within us. I would decorate the house even if I were living alone.
Come by, we'll have a drink or two of cheer.
Merry Christmas, BR. Oh, your poem... fabulous!

I feel the same way sometimes. I work in a big box store in the seasonal departments. It's ornaments this and Christmas trees that and not to mention the Black Friday bull****! My wife put out the nativity scene last night and for some reason, I felt better at ease because of it. Your sense of humor and straightforward, no-bull approach with this and a lot of your other pieces is why you have a following. Keep it up, sir.

Okay Scrooge, it was a fun read and I admit I agree with its sentiment. Well constructed and delightful to read, it's a vry good piece of work.
