My late friend Dan had a cure for writer's block. He told me to go to the local yuppie sports bar, a sbrightly neon lit as you can find, with as many screens as possible. look around you. Really look. And then say, "yeah, my life sucks, and I cannot find a single thing of inspiration right now... but. At least I'm not THAT guy over there. Or THAT one. etc."

Repeat as necessary, he told me. I think this technique may work in several different settings besides yuppie sports bars.

Yes it does and if you've read some of the fertilizer I've written since "Ice House of Broken Gears" my garden should be a regular Amazon basin by now. I tend to fall back on funny and dirty when I've got nothing else.

In this case writers block is trying to come up with a piece that's tight and hits a common chord like "Ice House of Broken Gears" did. That poem is casting a big shadow over my work. Silly crap like "I like girls" or "Sacriligious" I can write all day.
I'm gonna bust a bullshit rhyme
Take me less than seconds time
A*s f**k a gypsy super fine
Masterbate with old pork rinds

See? I can do that nonsense all day long. I can even make poems out of it like "Down at the Zombie Hop but stuff like "Ice house of broken gears" "In spite of Everything" "Working for Wal Mart Nation" Circus of Discontent" Even "Little fawn" I haven't had the inspiration for. I try and I got nuthin
