Wise guy Ricochet

I'm a straight up sure shot wise guy
That much you surely know
Just another rhythmic trickster
working his poets flow

My voice is purely masculine
with no apologies
A testament to testosterone
would be my effigy

my syllables are six and eight
As high as I can count
I seldom write in metaphors
Can't figure that crap out

I shy away from free verse flow
cause I can't make it pop
Poetic free verse rambling
oh god please make it stop

My one line review flip remarks
Some don't appreciate
Musings of my past deployments
Most people can't relate

My humor can be juvenile
or guttural at best
My circumstances obvious
by USMC jest

Perhaps you think me unrefined
A childish kind of fool
For writing vulgar nursery rhymes
just fit to ridicule

Perhaps you think there is no place
For Baby Ricochet
and he should should bury his keyboard
In someone's unmarked grave

But that would never ever do
We need a voice like mine
A trickster dodging IED'S
Oh that will do just fine

There is one Baby Ricochet
and that wise guy is me
The common man's poetic voice
on the good old WC

We certainly need you, not many writers have the guts to express themselves as freely and humorously as you do. Again, you amuse me with your rants, I enjoyed this. You definitely relate to the common man, yet you aren't common in the aspect of what you've been through, which adds a spin of uniqueness to each of your pieces. Common yet not common. You are one of a kind, and your unique voice is needed around here! About the metaphors - my mother reads my poems here. She complains when I write a free verse metaphor - says, in essence, "I just can't figure that crap out!" :)
