A Flourishing Addiction

A Flourishing Addiction

A Poem by demureminds

I am addicted to people.

The way they can smile at you and automatically

make your day.

The way they charm their lovers,

pouring themselves out,

whilst the other

holds out their palms,

and drinks them in.

The way people control

each other,

so passionately,

caressing one another’s intricate souls.

The way they possess a sort of

magnetism

when they gaze at the moon,

so full of aspirations,

as if their lives were written

poetically

and

divinely

in the constellations.

I am addicted to people.

The way they cause pain,

pulling at the withering strings,

made weak and visible.

And I wonder,

if their actions,

in the past,

were once cast

upon them.

I wonder,

if time travel were possible,

if mistakes

had correction fluid

to cover it up,

if that would’ve

changed

anything at all.

So deep and so real! And I love when the shift happens.

Thank you!
This is deep your words hint at an undertow something more then what you have written something to ponder , Addicted to people almost bad for you love the line if mistakes had a correction fluid , vivid in the context of the poem.
