Tune Me Out

Tune Me Out

A Poem by demureminds

Pluck out my heartstrings,

one by one,

and strum them rhythmically

like a chordophone,

alone.

Vibrate the melodies,

go and shake them dry,

awaken the melancholy howls,

then beat my heart like percussion.

Keep the pulsating blood flow even

as it pitches through my veins,

so sing with it smoothly,

vocals un-quivering.

Puncture my lungs,

leave me gasping for breath,

then inject me with air

and let my lips oscillate

like woodwinds.

Tap my spine like a xylophone,

making music with my bones,

let me choke

on the colorful fragments

of my hollow soul,

jagged untamed gulps.

Go ahead and

play me like a commodity,

and trumpet out my sanity,

in crumbs of music notes.

Tune me out.

Quite the unique way to hear the beat of our hearts. Every word of this was cleverly pieced together. Amazing imagery and concept indeed.

Thanks!
extraordinary poem as always.. but you couldn't be tuned out if you wanted too..

its the whiffs of the wind that rents space, from your voice

coating ever the mists of our meaning
