Something Like a Profoundly Strong Liking

Something Like a Profoundly Strong Liking

A Poem by demureminds

Speak this foreign language

most often misunderstood.

Perform it’s pleasures,

it’s passion,

it’s ache,

it’s blindness,

and sink into

its deepest and murkiest waters,

but be sure to bring a flashlight.

Dabble in the folds

of it’s warm embrace,

and caress the smooth,

but sometimes

jagged fabrications

that may culminate in your head;

but unstitch it some days

okay?

Linger upon the lies,

so twisted,

they’re white,

and fondle with the amnesia

effect

but never forget the

retrospect,

because it won’t end well

if you do.

Hear the arousing chronicles

that diffuse across generations,

watch them unravel

and unrobe their secrets

but interpret this

very carefully,

for yours may unfold

quite differently.

But

don’t sling the famous phrase

around too much,

because sometimes

it hits hard,

and you can’t take back such

pain.

methinks you speak of amore my friend.. used in such celebrated phrases no word can be more powerful.. its what binds everything together in this whole otherwise mess of existence..

yes, a light is always helpful when we tread out on a tightrope in the night

hopefully what we find on the other side is something we will, profoundly and strongly like..

enjoyed

You are right! haha. Thanks
Though I can't quite phrase the concept verbally, somehow I fathom it all the more. Strange indeed; I am left speechless with this poetry, and the only emphasis I could possibly give to such an excellent poem is the 'stitches' reference in the second stanza. A-may-zing.
