Obey

Obey

A Poem by demureminds

Mangled ink,

pried out of tense fingertips,

drip dripping into paper crevices,

plopping rapidly,

vicariously,

to avoid misconceptions

and alterations.

Unrivaled lines

and conspicuous statements

seared onto bark

and hark the angels sang of lies,

hyperboles rang in corners

of sweet puffy clouds,

undoubting the faith of a deity

willingly and desperately.

Palpable white noise

and conscious voices

trickle towards detonation,

heaving tremendous strokes

of wrath,

strangling every bit of artificiality

on this here

Earth, Air, Water, Fire

when all failed

and faith was finally

lost.

Atrocious evolution,

that molded the minds

of growing generations,

teaching the heed,

the need

for fair trade into a heaven’s paradise

if they played nice.

And that is why,

there is no such thing

as integrity,

for the greed,

the heaven frenzies

have rewritten it all

so we just

obey.

Honestly; it seemed strained in the beginning but then as it progressed, the words came out more smoothly. I enjoyed this!
