Another Cinderella Story

Holding in all her beauty
she had rested several years.
Missed parties and celebrations,
always keeping in her tears.

One day she left her family,
and travelled far, far away.

She had often thought that home,
was not where she should stay.

She usually thought differently,
than others that she knew.

Friends would mock and laugh…
so she felt that way too.

Then one day at the palace
great banquet plans were made.
A gentleman showed up one day,
at the shop in which she stayed.

And she was carried off by him,
to the Palace and prepared.
The banquet time was ready,
and no costs had been spared.

The banquet did begin on time,
yet, still she felt very cold.

Standing there beside her was one,
who herself was very old.

“Come here child and taste this first,”
the Queen called to her son.

Her bouquet’s smooth and pleasant,
she really is quite fun.

The Prince looked closely at her,
and she kissed his tender lips.

He puzzled for a moment,
as if studying her hips…

Her Label, it said Sauvignon
inside, she was Merlot.

... you have a way with words ... and you rhyme with effortless ease ... singing songs for bards and birds ... and even the bumbling bees ... this is such a crazy twist ... to a tale well told and old ... do write more, i insist ... do write more daring and bold ... and not just tales of wine and women ... write 'em bovine ones too ... i'll happily read all of 'em ... for you write so blue and true ... :P ... (highest rating for your fascinating rhyme) ...

Well written BB. This was constructed wonderfully! You have a perfection to your rhythm. Almost beats like a heart in love. You already know you are a brilliant writer and don't need to be told so. Imagery was lovely, & you wrapped things up with a twist! - Wine wine wine!
