Crescent Butterfly

Crescent Butterfly

A Poem by Emily
"

A poem "written" by my main character in a book I'm planning. She dreams of escape from her abusive step-brother.

"
The waning silver smile
Builds ambition for the butterfly

New moon wishes
For the urge to come
For her to go

Moonbeams show her the way
To her desolate paradise
Her wings gently flapping

She finally makes contact
Moonscape bliss

Butterflies are beautiful symbols of change...I find it odd that this butterfly responds to the moon, all the butterflies I know love sunshine, maybe this makes sense given your characters situation.

I love these that are short and sweet! Great one! I'm not much on airy, sweet poetry, but you do a great job where I lack :P

Butterflies are best appreciated when you pin them to cardboard with needles through their heads and spray fixative on their wings so they stay pretty and don't flutter around distractingly. Then they're almost as pretty as flowers...almost, but not quite.
