Only So Much

Time can only erase so much pain.

Tears can wash away only so much deceit.

Words can chase away only so much hate.

A band aid can only cover so many wounds.

This heart can only bear so much breakage.

This body can only handle so much abuse.

These hands can only hold so many burdens.

My eyes can only witness so much horror.

My lips can only keep so many lies.

My love can only give so much of me.

Before somewhere something snaps inside.

And the you part of me slowly dies.

These words you use are wonderful and really give depth and meaning to emotion. The colors I'm not so sure about ... Maybe use darker red and blue. The brighter version seems to take something visually away ... But anyway, the poem was a great read. Good work.
