So A Stranger Could Live

I often ask myself if I could give up everything so someone else could live. To me, that is love.

Could you lay down your life,
so a stranger could live?
Could you do all you could,
until you had nothing left to give?
Could you put your hopes and dreams aside,
so another wouldn't have to say 'goodbye'?
Could you cast away with your pride,
so another wouldn't have to die?
Could you give up everything you've ever loved,
if it was your time to go?
Could you tell someone it'll be alright,
even if you did not know?
Could you take what you need,
but take less than what you give?
Could you do without the fame and glory,
to know that someone else could live?

I watched a movie that was surrounded around being unselfish, and it taught me to be more giving.

I think this is one of your best work! I love it Dillion Jensen! I think it's good to be a giving person to keep a person from having nothing at all. I think it's great when a person can give their life up to help another person that might even be a stranger. Helping others shouldn't be just a chore or whatever, it should be a necessity. If everyone was as caring as your poem is presented then our world would be in better shape. Don't you think so? Haha :) Great write, indeed.
