A Poem by defenestrator
"

One of a couple dozen poems I set to music years ago.

"

She doesn't try to reach me.

It doesn't matter what I say anymore.

Never get a reason,

her mind changes with the season

and I am lonely for the year.

I became a twist of fate

that she could not relate to anymore.

To call myself a friend

will kill me in the end

but I am happy to be hers.

You don't seem to mind,

watching my life slowly pass by.

I have tried every way

that I know to fly.

I could live a lie

and tell myself that I left you right.

There will never be

any kind of peace left in me.

She doesn't try to reach me.

It doesn't matter what I say anymore.

Never get a reason,

her mind changes with the season

and I am lonely for the year.

I became a twist of fate

that she could not relate to anymore.

To call myself a friend

will kill me in the end

but I am happy to be hers.

.....And this is true love...self-less, complicated and pure. The sentiment and sorrow are very clear and delicate in this. Thank you for sharing :)
