The Wisdom of Nature

The Wisdom of Nature

A Poem by Audrey Howitt

Penitent weeper,

Why weep you on this dew-kissed morning

When life so justly fills every crevice.

Prostrate yourself not

Before the idols of man.

Man knows little enough

And of that,

Respects not

That which he cannot use easily

And without mercy.

Rather, dry your eyes

The better to clearly see

Stand, the better to be closer to the sun

and feel its light fill your face.

See the person who shines before you

and know who you are.

WoW!
Truly amazing piece.
It's flow was so beautiful that your creation laid a permanent print in my mind.
Yes, Nature is our mother and caretaker.
This beautiful and tender poem of your reminds us what is long forgotten.
Respecting nature.

A happy piece, one that emits light into dark places. A fabulous work indeed.

Nature is our nature , something man , especially the modern techologically advanced man , is in a rush to escape from ... conquer is our down fall , co-operation , as individuals , our saviour .

wow, this is really good. This is the kind of tone I wish I could explore more too.

The lines that really got me were:

1. Prostrate yourself not

Before the idols of man.
