My shivering prayers

My shivering prayers

A Poem by Divya Punjabi
"

domestic violence.. the one which is in trend now.. this poem tries to reflect the pain and agony of the victim..

"
Holding the knife, with those shivering fingers,
Wanting my life to end.
But then something always interrupts,
Forcing me not to lynch myself.

Damn! these hopeless hopes,
These meaningless wishes.
The useless, moronic thoughts,
Of living the life one cherishes.

Days are gone peeping out the window,
But the worst is yes, it is the vicious night.
When I jump from his nightmare,
And find him staring at me, holding that furious smile.

Ruining my life, murdering my will,
His hands beautifully covers my raising voices.
Not setting me free, but just letting me breathe,
He is trying to make me his choice.

Every day I loose these hateful fights,
Everytime my shivering fingers cross in vain.
Begging my heartbeats to rest for a while,
Requesting my eyes.. please, not to open again..!

Yes its true it is the false hopes makes one to go on with the situation, bear all sufferings thinking the things will change but it does not.

Domestic violence of any kind is always a horrible thing, and something difficult to get through. Sometimes you feel like giving up, but hold on. Hopefully, you will escape. God Bless, and take care! This poem hit home a bit.
