A Poem by dessy

hold it! wait not yet!
please
I'm not ready; be patient
with me
I've changed my mind.
why?
I'm not brave enough
to try.
will you wait? not long;
honest.
I am worth your time
I promise.

I like this poem. The mind dances from no to yes. Yes to no. A excellent poem. Made me smile this morning. Thank you for the excellent poem.

Now I see two distinct sides to this little monologue. Interesting write that leaves much for reader interpretation. I DO get a genuine feel for this one.

I read it as the classic "I'm not ready." conversation.

I'm with all the other comments here. I had to read this tree time smiling and reading it out loud to my wife. Very good poem. I love the message.

I liked this! I can recall many times where i have uttered similar words to people who are wanting to rush through life without care for where the step or trod on.
Great Write! :)

A one-sided conversation that could be interpreted in many different situations. I like the asssertion at the end that the narrative voice is worth the wait.

A simple yet complex poem, that can be read on so many levels. From a person's first encounter with a sexual partner, to share themselves with those around them. Experiences, which can be traumatic and scary for us. Thank you for sharing this poem, with us.

Complicated. One word, but I find it fits me best. I am not old but not young, I am a mother, sadly not anymore a daughter. I love music but cannot make it myself. I hide from the truth when it hurts,.. more..
