In the Dark

In the Dark

A Poem by DJuan Thomas
"

A little dark, I know.

"
Mind the gaps,
Wider they grow
In the gathering dark.
Black skies won't hide
your face from
the unreality of everything
you can't see:
A veiled head,
a gloved hand-
open palmed and reaching
for something in the black
obscured by the black
swallowing the black- like Tori said,
"I'm black of the blackest ocean."
So you can't see
that which engulfs you;
So mind the gaps,
what chasms await
the unminded step.
Depths unknown will rise and fall
As you float and sink
into the shade's shade
where light acquiesces:
Hopelessly, coldly,
where there are but
Memories, reflections and shadows
of unflinching, gathering darkness.

About
There is so much I can say here about my life I suppose, but it seems so uninteresting to write about it. Talking to people just seems so much better. I'm a small town guy, pretty simple I think. I'm .. more..
