Politics

Politics

A Poem by Donald
"

This piece should raise a few eyebrows. I don't usually go into politics but everyone should take a poke at them once in a while.

"

Two opponents face other on the stage,

arguing their points of view.

Neither facing the truth and neither backing down.

Still each states the lie most foul is to believed now.

Never stating the obvious and never admitting defeat.

They continue this pointless battle and never concede to the truth.

The true is simply that whatever is good for the people is bad for politics.

What make the greatest impact on the public,

is what they need you to believe.

Their only goal is to win regardless of the cost to others.

Once in office,

they discard this lie as if it were a suit of clothes and never wear it again.

To sit in this chair and use the power contained within it,

to strengthen their own position in this government.

To fatten their own bank accounts and live off the public like a leech.

That is their sole goal in the lofty role.

No disrespect intended, I imagine there are a few good politicians out there. Very few.

Well, you are preaching to the choir. I love what you said here, and you did not take a polarized view. I have been screaming about politicians over on tumblr for some time. I have deep fears about our country and humanity. I think Congress should be put on minimum wage and lose their free medical coverages and their big fat pensions. I'm liberal, but I agree that government has become a complexity-hobbled leviathan. It does seem self-interest is the primary motivator for those seeking election. You nailed it with poem.
