we settled into this life

we settled into this life

A Poem by Don BeeKeeper
"

About a certain feeling you get as time passes in a certain way.

"
i felt the breeze through my hair
as we moved with the crowd
Shuffling morning spread us out
between the posts we occupy
Work eats time in a different way
and I wanted more from every day
than just becoming one day older
than just pretending
I felt the hope in your voice
as we spoke through every night
How it takes us far apart
within the rooms we occupy
We pass the pieces back and forth
through days and acts devouring
We think that's what it means
to be alive.
I felt the breeze through my hair
as a whisper from another you
Something deep within a world
that's somehow hidden from me.
we settled deep into this space
and found we cannot hold each place
we cannot keep them far apart
or protect them.
