so shall i

so shall i

A Poem by Don BeeKeeper
"

age is weightless but time is heavy

"
i'll trim the petals
leave the thorns alone
doubt the being of was
until tomorrow replaces now
light the candles
with long slender sticks
light the candles
and set them adrift
bow your head in silence
for the elder has passed
show that grace has granted
in respect of briefest existence
your age won't matter
i'll still take you bread
in the morning
i will pour your coffee
and bring it to you
as you wait
as you wait
so shall i

About
I write. I record. Often what I write is attempting to capture a moment in an almost photographic way - but not necessarily visually descriptive - more the shape than the colour. more..
