Thunder

Thunder

A Poem by dontdigonswine

the most afraid I've ever been
hugging the rounded slope of a Utah mountain -
miles of empty silence,
ascending and descending

and the charcoal clouds
shrieked like a nightmare from a year prior
that had since been forgotten

creaking midnight village,
black and brown taxi,
and a hitchhiking soothsayer
with eyes that could detect
the fingerprints of death

and i was back in Utah,
remembering,
when i saw the terrifying bolt lick the mountaintop,
and her eyes cawing like feasting crows,
to remind me i am still alive

Wow, this is a very powerful piece of poetry. I especially loved this part:

and a hitchhiking soothsayer
with eyes that could detect
the fingerprints of death

AND

and her eyes cawing like feasting crows,
to remind me I am still alive.

You should capitalize the 'i's, though.
