I Love Her

I Love Her

A Poem by D Poet K
"

Lust is never involved but it seems they always tend to bust...

"

You're the best - beau-tiful to me,
Sorta like fresh - herbal tea.
See - no one compares to you,
Not - even close comes two.
Through - all I've seen in life,
You've - been there for me, that's right.
I - wish I could show you,
Just - how much I hold inside.

"You can cry, on my shoul-der,
Everythings, what I told her."
I've heard this story before,
Its never about a man nor,
Is it ever about a lady, more,
Like a Love stronger than us,
Lust, is never involved but,
It seems they always tend to bust.
Must, be the feeling I feel,
Cause, they say it like I spill.
The hardest Love to break,
Its been living since before your days.
She, grew into the world,
Became KOOL, in New York,
Could be heard, through every door,
And been loved forever more.
Flier than Superman,
Stronger than The Hulk,
I guess its, Everything I Am.

You can call her a hoe cause she sleeps around,
But she's in Love with everyone who hears her sound.
Cause she's got the most beautiful voice,
Truly is, The Peoples choice.
She was Banned In The USA,
But she came right back,
That was almost two decades ago,
Who else you know like that?
The strongest woman I know,
Who taught me to be strong,
And she's just like me,
Written thousands of songs.

You've heard her before,
You're hearing her now,
You've read her words,
You always see her around.
She's the art under that bridge,
The man on The Corner,
Who constantly spits,
Words from that book,
Which she's also in.
She's the hook in that song,
That you're in Love with.
The DJ that creates,
The beats you cant resist.
She inspired me,
She inspires you,
She helps us live,
This life we're into.
She's not even a woman,
We just tend to call her that,
Cause she Loves like a mother,
With her hand on our backs.
She's the Poetry we Love,
The Graffiti cops hate,
The DJ's in the clubs,
And the Dancers that Break.
That's why, Hip Hop...
Can never be replaced.

What a surprise great ending! Oh my, I wasn't expecting that!!!. Clever, clever, clever..

The whole poem works so well, you quote so many different aspects of who seems to be a woman, what, who, where she is. Written so smoothly, conjurs up a real picture - or so I thought

Great post. Thank you for sharing.

Now this is very clever.....A take on the classic Common song "I used to love h.e.r." but you twist it into Your love for hip hop. A true lyricist you are. :)

UNBELIEVABLE! YOU WROTE THAT? Thank you first of all for your review of "The Struggle." It means a lot to me. You write so freely, like a prose piece. I love it, this is by far my FAVORITE piece on here. Kudos to you love, kudos to you. xo- D.E.
