A GIRL'S DREAM

A GIRL'S DREAM

A Poem by Andrew

Once I had some lofty goals

Stood high and tall like poles

But then came my reality

Hitting me with such brutality

Sure I had a big dream

Looking lovely like whipped-cream

That one day I’d become “someone”

Who mattered to everyone.

Slowly I had to grow up

Be the bearer of the home’s cup

Provide a source of income

Ensure for someone else an outcome.

My wares I had to trade off

Sometimes with my clothes off

Somewhere inside of me deep,

My dreams alive I still keep.

Come rain and come sunshine

With me, it is all fine

At nights I gaze at the stars

Is that a canvas of scars?

I hope to get there someday

Be alive and chart a new way

Conquer and achieve all things

Rise above like a God-being.

Do the stars at me taunt?

With their merry, twinkly jaunt

Does my destiny bring in tow?

What my future requires, a wow!!
