Brimstone and Spice

Brimstone and Spice

A Poem by Doreen
"

Snow brings out the oppressive scorn in me I'm guessing.

"

Why the poignant look?
You tore my sympathies
to

with your
diatribe rantings,
spinning my head
in circles with your hatred.
Eyes bitter with deceit
you soothe the senses,
just as the charmer to the snake,
purposeful in your
intent to betray.
Was that the plan
from the beginning?
It's not the smell of cinnamon
that haunts, but brimstone
from your hell
clawing its way
through the senses.
The road to indifference
has begun.
Out.
damn.

Well Lady Macbeth, I'm sold. The allusions, the crafted use of Brimstone to marry cinnamon and the idea that words, not actions can tailspin a human being.

I don't know whether to kill whoever it was, or kill em. Maybe a bit o both eh?
Like your work, everything seems fluid, like you were walking around and tripped over a poem and put it down. Effortless and true
