Me and YouA Poem by DustyTo my father. It doesn't make up for everything you did, but somehow, we'll find a way to live with it.Daddy, listen to me. For once, just hear me speak. This is my moment, and I'm gonna say what I think.
I know you love me, Daddy. You heart's been there all this time. And though you made some mistakes, I turned out fine. I can never forget everything I was put through, but I'll let you know, I don't blame you.
We've all done things we regret. And no, you haven't lost me yet. I'm still here, singing to you, and I know you don't remember, but even if you don't know, Daddy, I just want to say, Me and you, We'll be okay.
Daddy, the past is behind us. I'm here right now. Let's live for the moment, before we forget how. Don't try to bring up the past, I've left it alone at last. We've finally found each other, don't let the moment be smothered.
I'm not angry at you, Daddy, I just what you to be here, so I can whisper in your ear:
"We've all done things we regret, And no, you haven't lost me yet. I'm still here, singing to you, and I know you don't remember, but even if you don't know, Daddy, I just want to say, Me and you, We'll be okay."
Daddy, Me and you, We'll be okay.
