Quiet Love

Quiet Love

A Poem by E.A Cummins

I read about quiet love today
And I fell in love again

Storybooks portray
Loud
In your face love

But quiet love is precious

Holding hands in the dark
Forehead kisses in the kitchen

Laying our clothes for him
For his shower

Him tiptoeing around
When he gets up before me

I never needed flowers delivered
I never needed Facebook love letters

I need him to love me
Even in the quiet

Because his quiet love

Is louder than words
