Life's like a Senryu

Life's like a Senryu

A Poem by Eddie Davis
"

A Senryu (of course)

Life’s like a Senryu,

Frustratingly limited,

In length and structure

Author's Note

Eddie Davis
A Senryu (pronounced SIN-RE-YOU, it is a two syllable word) is a form of Japanese poetry similiar in structure to a Haiku. In English, a Senryu has three lines, the first with 5 syllables, the second with 7 and the last with 5 again. It always deals with the human condition and is often ironic or humorous. Senryu is Japanese for 'River Willow' and was the pen name of Japanese poet Karai Hachiemon (1718–1790) who popularized this form of poetry.

Those are nice words to ponder, Eddie.
Indeed our lives are but limited editions, but still we have unlimited choices on how to spend such limited time here on earth.
Thanks for the share.
