I am more then just my skin

So I wrote this one day when I was waiting for the bus there was a drunk African American man, just talking I had my headphones in so he thought I wasn't listening but I was.

What just because you think I'm white
I have an easy life?
But let the fact show 
I'm not just white
And I do know pain maybe not the same as yours.
But being homeless more times than I can count on my hands and toes, losing my role model just as I was turning thirteen, being raped not once, twice but three times
A friend 
A grandfather
A mystery man
So I am sorry if I am tense
It’s not because of your skin
It's the fact you're a man that scares me.
You don't know my past in this life
But as I am taking time to learn you're scars that can't be seen
Try and take a moment to learn mine.
I'm sorry for what happened in the past.
I understand back in the day.
Your people were raped, chained and used for what their master could have done for themselves.
An in today's world you're feared by your own skin,
Turned away from another job that no one can do but you.
But don't come up to me and say this white girl doesn't know pain,
I bit my tongue that day but in my head there were so many things I wanted to say.
But for my half African American brothers I kept my mouth shut for the respect of their ancestors past 
But let the fact show I'm not just white and I do know pain.
I'm learning about your scars that can't be seen so try and take a moment to learn mine
Cause deep down past the skin, blood and bones.
We are just two souls walking in a path with so many burdens.
You and I aren't that different on the inside we are built the same and our past is what makes us different.
