Right, Wrong

Right, Wrong

A Poem by Elvis Gilley
"

Its funny how a husband and wife can see things so different after the marriage is over.

"

Your right

I am wrong

You are strong

I am weak

Perhaps

my friend you are confused

I am left

you are gone

I whisper

you burst into song

So different

are you and I

No need

for loneliness

pity

or sad good-byes

For the days of truth are at hand

They are written

in granite

not the sand

So if you cry out

remember this word

While you were right

and I was wrong

While I was meek

you were strong

Now do you see,

 your confused

Cause I left

when you were gone

I whispered love

while you sang meaningless songs

So opposite are you and I

You would play, I would cry

So today I am not lonely anymore

nor do I have the emotions I fought before

For the truth before me stands

etched in walls built by your hands

Not scribbled along life's shore

Never to be traveled anymore.
