My Love

My Love

A Poem by Elvis Gilley
"

A desire of another kind.

"

In this heart lies affection

rejection

merriment

Bitter memories of disappointment

My inner essence

in God's presence

Shielded from the snares of the sinful

I rest peacefully.

In hours of grave distress

I call upon him, for my soul's in duress

for tranquility

becomes reality

Angels combating my adversary

as you have fought to destroy your enemy

For

you are my provider and so much more
