Happily Ever After

Happily Ever After

A Poem by Ellaiza

We were so perfect for each other,
not even bothered every time they say there's no happily ever after.
The little things that we used to have,
gave a strong foundation on our love.

But one day changed everything.
All of your love, faded into nothing.
You started raising your voice in every conversation,

But I tried to understand your unnecessary action.

One night you came to me saying you've lost your ring,
and suddenly decided to end everything.
I was left clueless in the middle of the street,
with all the gifts you returned, lying on my feet.

I walked home still trying to sink in what you've said,
that you were tired and felt like you were dead.
I hated you for saying that line,
the words that were supposed to be mine.

Please give me an explanation,
for I badly need clarification.
I don't want your words to haunt me forever.
I also want my happily ever after.
