Sweet Death

Sweet Death

A Poem by Shy
"

A memorial for a brother in Christ, who went to sleep and did not wake up the next day.

"

Look out at me, my spirit lost

It’s the sweetest sleep I’ve ever caught

A deadly lullaby, sharp like a sword

I’ve closed my eyes, so deeply lost

Another day behind, another to come

“Not this time”, said the Lord

“I sing to you every night,

but this shall be the very last.”

Look out at me, my spirit found

It is time to kiss the world goodbye

The scars, the wounds

Matters not where I die

All is healed, I am whole

“Come with me” said the Lord

Time to move on, forget what’s done

“I am here” I told the Lord “I am finally home.”
