Life in Eden

Life in Eden

A Poem by EmeraldFacet
"

To my first love

"
Shattered heart
Fragments of dust
Consciousness unable to mend
Path too dim for faith to reveal
The bond to you I can not conceal

All too good to be true
In those eyes of yours, baby blue
A heart frozen in isolation
You managed to thaw with your revelation
How you did it I still don’t know
I had locked it in a guided cage years ago

A best friend, a lover, a wife
With these sweet words spoken
The presence of you ignited in my life
Were you too fast? Was I too slow?
The winds of change too fervent
Neither of us will ever know

Close enough to Eden
But far enough out of reach
My mind tires endlessly
No more words I want to hear of preach

Quality over quantity
Life is measured in that way
Love lived for only 6 short weeks
But in my heart you will forever stay

About
I believe that embers of the past have just enough potential to start a fire in our soul, enableing each one of us to, not become great for ourselves, but rather to do something great for someone else.. more..
