Independent Woman

Independent Woman

A Poem by EmeraldFacet

She toils for her money
And treats herself for a night out in town
She can amass heaps of riches
And dress like anything she wants-
Finds joy even looking like a clown

She directly can ask for sex
Freeliy and loudly is preffered
She can want more and expect bigger, next
As long as her yearning for something real remains unheared

The truth is always quiet
And lies are really loud
When the sun sets in her bedroom the thoughts are private
She couldnt be more different than the surrounding crowd

She can't think her way out of hunger anymore than She can think her way out of lonliness
So why does she feel shame when what she want is love, to confess

A warm hug as she comes home drenched from the rain
A kiss to be given without earning, again and again
A gentle smirk when she glances at the late night clock
Knowing an endless night her bed post will knock

A plate of lemons set beside her meal
In those tangy sour notes her anxieties surely heal
A hat for the cold he remembers to bring
An " I love you" message she see on her phone as his tone did ring

Cherries blossoms in the spring
And leaves change color in November air
An abundance of value her soul does bring
Her heart now broken
About her future suddenly she doesn't even care

About
I believe that embers of the past have just enough potential to start a fire in our soul, enableing each one of us to, not become great for ourselves, but rather to do something great for someone else.. more..
