Remember Remember the fifth of November

Remember Remember the fifth of November

A Poem by EmeraldFacet

Playing a game neither of us would ever win
Fighting and longing- straying, belonging
For almost three years in vain we repeatedly did sin

Years filled with months of memories
Marks an anniversary that has never been born
Drowning in sorrow holding on to accessories
When November comes will you even mourn?

Poverty and infidelity do not live in my future
Although they were all you'd ever could grasp
Created gashes in my heart I continously had to suture
Both dreams and nightmares this love amassed

Ommision is still lying
You thought fair warning came from your lips
When I tasted her I kept denying
She entered my womb while you held on to my hips

God must surely tire of your name
I confess I mention you in almost every prayer
Have you finally come to realize your projections at me you aim
Were the accusations of not being a team player

Love claims to be a meritocracy
So which one of the betrayals did I deserve
Once I entered it only felt like anarchy
Ultimately my dignity is what I chose to preserve

About
I believe that embers of the past have just enough potential to start a fire in our soul, enableing each one of us to, not become great for ourselves, but rather to do something great for someone else.. more..
