Lucifer

Lucifer

A Poem by SLOVA
"

Lucifer's fall.

"

Watch me in flight
I am so high

That your face is treasure and diamonds on fire

Watch me in flight
I am so high
That your eyes are spinning and I am on fire

Watch me in flight
I am so high
I can see Michael dive down from the sky

Watch me in flight
I get so high
I can bend time and rejoice as it dies

Watch me in flight

I am so high
My faith is burning and I am on fire

Watch me in flight
I am so high
That your face is treasure and diamonds on fire

I am rather obsessed with Christian mythology, and thus I like this poem. A lot.
The repetition “ Watch me in flight I am so high” makes Lucifer sound just as he is – prideful and almighty. Full of himself. I suspect that the face that was treasure and diamonds on fire was God's face.
He wanted to reach out beyond God and just like Icarus his wings were set on fire, and he fell. He shouldn't have flown so high :)

Nice use of words. Gave life to the artwork. I like the flow of thoughts leading to the very good ending. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.
