Like a Princess

Like a Princess

A Poem by Mily
"

Maybe I'm just crazy.

"
I fell in love..
I fell in love when I listened to you talk so passionately about the basketball game
that had been on the pervious Thursday.
And then a little more when we curled up next to the fire because
you wanted to protect me from the roaring of the pouring rain.
And then when your mother broke her wrist,
how I would stay up all night talking to you, while you stayed by her bedside keeping her safe.
And the next day how your little puppy was afraid of the thunder, so you let it sleep with you.
But I think it was the day when you spun me around like a princess and offered to buy me the sparkling tiara,
that I fell in love with you the most.
You were okay with my young soul,
you understood that I would be more than a handful,
just as a child would,
yet you've opened your arms and taken me in.
You've managed to love me, despite all my imperfections.
And well my dear, I may not have truly fallen for you.
But, I think I have.
