Who am I?

Who am I?

A Poem by Akhand Pratap Singh
"

Human heart is full of questions and issues, sometimes you are unsure of your own presence and personality, you search for your inner self. A poem depicting one of the darkest situation of human heart

"

My heart is so empty

My soul is so dark

There's fear inside me

That's tearing me apart

This life is so worthless

This  feeling is so cold

Its a demon or a beast

I want to be told

Told about my own self

My own image, my past

Am I human or Ace of spades

From devils deck of card?

Why am I so hated

Or may be loved by some

I have feeling that its a question

With no answer to come

This heart is in pain

And mind is in chaos

Can someone tell me

What is in my heart?

I am sad, confused and lonely

Why it turned out this way

Am I on right path

Or have been led astray?

Help me oh God!!

If  there really is you

I ask you to please

Tell me through.

Tell who I am?

Which side is really mine

Is it the morning smile?

Or the dark night?

My whole self is paining

And I am crying

 I don't even know myself

Its even worse than dying

Who knows which one is me?

I want some one to share

Is it me who hurts all?

Or one that really cares?

I don't know myself yet

But hope I'll know soon

Even though its painful

But I'll keep moving on

When some day I'll know myself

After a day, week or year long

I'll take up my page and pen

And will turn it into a song

My song is no other thing

Its just my heart crying

They are just feeling from my heart

In which I put some rhyme

My heart is so empty

My soul is so dark

There's fear inside me

That's tearing me apart.

Deep words. Real questions. Poignant and astounding. I've heard it said that while we live we fear death, that is, we fear the separation and loneliness which is actually life. I wish we would allow our hearts to cry because there seems to be no innocence in the world. Because we understand reason only with a human rationality, we think we have none. We are capable of both atrocities and miracles, of feeling so much love but also so much pain.
'My heart aches
and a drowsy numbness fills my senses
as though of hemlock i had drunk' (J Keats).
Your chorus kind of reminded me of this famous poem.

Pure harmony... :)

Perfect! I love your style and this poem! The plot is held steadily, you kept to the main point, and it's an ATTENTION GRABBER! I won't go into atheism or Christian beliefs because I don't want to affend any athiests. Great job anyway!
