I SLEEP AND WAKE AND DIE AND AWAKE EVERYDAY

I SLEEP AND WAKE AND DIE AND AWAKE EVERYDAY

A Poem by E.P. Robles
"

I have said it all in this poem.

"
In the realm of our contemporary age, behold the strangest spring,
Trust, amidst my myriad ways, holds an allure that's enchanting.
Grass thrusts through snowy shrouds, tombstone-like,
Yet, in storms' embrace, I slumber and awaken, eyes bright.
Time moves languidly, fleeting moments blend,
Every path delves deep into my soul, seeking someone to befriend.
Monsters' words, I heed not, their intentions I decipher,
Gazing at beautiful, self-assured faces, destined to be their masters' undoing.
II. The Enigmatic Role of Women
As they sing, maids dash forth,
Tidying killing fields' somber earth,
Powdered girls kneel swiftly, elegance in motion,
Stretching hands toward fresh air, turning blue in surreal devotion.
Behold the hands of the departed, a watery gaze,
Transient toilet of life, the ultimate fleeting phase,
Stones sink and vanish in primeval waters' grace,
Time's final toilet, memories barely encase.
Virtue's well, a dried-up reservoir,
During oppressive absences, tender flesh we explore,
Vulnerability overwhelms, a dance to endure,
As life's surreal tides, we're pulled ashore.
III. Profound Silence Unfolds
Silence, as deep as a buried corpse,
In a realm of darkness, its mind warped.
Autumn by the pond, deaf and dull,
In stale shame, surreal secrets cull.
Poison devoid of bloom, golden creatures bereft,
Spilling darkness upon humanity, dreams left bereaved.
IV. The Virtue of Patience
Oh, patient one, cradle of night's tranquility,
Raise your head high, conceal heaven's nobility,
Vengeance awaits, a cradle of rebirth,
In its grace, prepare for surreal worth.
V. The First March, A Voice Unearthed
Sky and planets laugh, intoxicated in surreal delight,
Wise men crave sons, grandsons, dreams taking flight,
In vain, they perish, time weighs on fools,
Amidst absurdity, Hell thrives, dancing with its rules.
VI. The Enigma of the Wolf
Day surprises, night frightens, haunting echoes stay,
Winter trails behind, footsteps in sand or clay,
Traveling beyond my own, the wolf's tracks astray,
Where death leaves its imprints on life's surreal pathway.
VII. The Flawless Fire Unleashed
Threats under the red sky emerge, jaws clenched tight,
Scales and links intertwine, a slippery, surreal plight,
Life's generosity, death takes its toll without a fight,
A kiss of conquerors, swooning victims' surreal delight.
Beneath the red sky, thirst for blood lingers,
In wretched hunger, the cave's grasp strengthens,
Kind earth fills graves, prepared in advance,
Children unafraid of maternal surreal expanse.
Madness, stupidity, and vulgarity retreat,
Humankind and brotherhood in surreal harmony meet,
No longer battling life, an eternal beat,
A surreal existence, where dreams and reality greet.
VIII. The Ode to Liberty
On school notebooks, trees, and desks, your name inscribed,
In sand and snow, on all pages described,
In stone, blood, paper, or ash, your essence imbued,
A surreal symphony, your name pursued.
Golden images adorned, warriors' weapons defined,
On kings' crowns, your name enshrined,
Jungles, deserts, and nests, your presence graced,
In childhood echoes, your name embraced.
In the wonder of nights, the bread of days, seasons vowed,
With every dawn's burst, on boats at sea you're endowed,
Insipid rain and foam of clouds, your name embossed,
In the storm's sweat, a surreal testament to your exhaust.
Shimmering forms and colorful bells proclaim,
The physical truth, where your name lays claim,
Vigilant pathways and bustling places, your presence found,
A surreal encounter, in life's surreal playground.
Ignited and dimmed lamps, your essence bright,
In united houses, your name a surreal light,
On cut fruits, mirrors, and rooms, your name displayed,
In empty shells, your name surreal, yet unafraid.
Your name inscribed on a dog's eager might,
On pricked-up ears and a clumsy paw's sight,
At the threshold's surreal wave, you reside,
On familiar objects, in blessed fire's surreal stride.
Harmonious flesh, the faces of friends bear your name,
Outstretched hands, surreal connection's claim,
Window-panes of surprises, your name etched in flight,
On tender lips, surreal kisses unite.
Ruined shelter, collapsed beacon, weariness's wall,
Your name inscribed, surreal strength to recall,
Absence without longing, naked solitude's tale,
On death's surreal steps, your name's ethereal trail.
Restored health, vanquished risk, hope's memory abate,
In the power of one surreal word, we recreate,
Born to know you, to call your name: Liberty!
In this greatest surreal poem, your essence sets us free.
